This temporary full-time position focuses on promoting leisure lifestyle development for clients in the AIS Trauma Day Stream. As a Recreation Therapist, you will assess recreation needs, set achievable goals, and implement tailored interventions.
Your role will involve working within an interdisciplinary team, ensuring family-centered care and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop individualized leisure skills programs for adolescents
• Conduct assessments with clients and families
• Implement and evaluate tailored interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
• Provide documentation and tracking of client progress
Requirements:
• Baccalaureate degree in Recreation or Leisure Studies
• Certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
• Minimum two years of experience as a Recreation Therapist
• Experience with adolescents in mental health settings preferred
• Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia driver's license required
