Become part of the healthcare team at Nova Scotia Health as a Registered Orthotic Technician. This permanent full-time role prioritizes orthotic device fabrication to elevate patient mobility.
As a key member of the OPCZ Assistive Tech Orthotics department, you will report to the Program Manager and work closely under certified clinicians. Your responsibilities will encompass patient evaluations, designing and fabricating orthoses, as well as ongoing orthotic care in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute patient evaluations for orthotic device planning
• Design and fabricate custom orthotic devices based on assessments
• Provide continuous care and support with healthcare teams
• Uphold evidence-based practices in orthotic care
• Supervise and mentor students or interns when applicable
Requirements:
• Registration in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
• Minimum two years’ orthotic experience in healthcare
• Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills
• Excellent manual skills and problem-solving abilities
• Computer proficiency and understanding of patient confidentiality
