Join Nova Scotia Health as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician in Central Zone, Halifax. This permanent, full-time role emphasizes detail-oriented equipment management and procedural compliance.
You will report to the department's Manager and Supervisor, focusing on the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical devices used in patient care. With a minimum of three years of relevant experience, you are expected to handle tasks involving inventory management, equipment approval, and liaising with the OR team effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and implement SOPs for medical devices in use
• Review and approve surgical instrumentation guidelines
• Manage implant inventories and logistical needs
• Create backup documentation and update procedure maps
• Enforce strict compliance with infection control measures
Requirements:
• Completed Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program
• Minimum 3 years recent experience required
• Must obtain certification within 3 months of hire
• Understanding of microbiology and anatomy is preferred
• Strong organizational and initiative-taking skills
