Utility Worker Position in Healthcare

IWK Health seeks a dedicated Utility Worker in Environmental Services for a full-time role. Your efforts will promote cleanliness and safety throughout the healthcare environment of Nova Scotia.

In this mid-level role, you'll work closely with the Facility Support Services team. Your tasks will include maintaining clean areas following hospital standards and demonstrating a respectful attitude toward all patients and staff. Communication is key, and proficiency in multiple languages, especially French, will be beneficial for team interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness in designated healthcare areas

• Utilize correct cleaning methods for sanitation

• Provide support and guidance to team members

• Monitor and report any safety risks identified

• Participate in continual training and departmental programs

Requirements:

• Grade 12/GED or related experience preferred

• Familiarity with cleaning practices in healthcare

• Proficient communication skills in English;
French is a plus

• Ability to accommodate flexible shift work

• Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety measures
