About the Opportunity
Under the remote supervision of the Manager, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares, dispenses, and administers radiopharmaceuticals to perform more than 70 nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies, effectively, efficiently, professionally, and ethically. The role includes the ongoing quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation maintenance required by hospital accreditation, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and Health Canada.

The Technologist is expected to adapt procedures and perform complex computer manipulations and analysis while providing a high standard of health care to the client. On a rotating basis, they independently perform on‑call/emergency procedures outside department hours for presentation to the nuclear medicine physician.

About You

Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology

Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification

Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure

Basic Life Support Certification

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System certification

Able to adapt to changes or unusual circumstances, promoting cooperation, teamwork, and minimizing disruption

Can establish rapport with patients, demonstrating courtesy, kindness, understanding, and professionalism at all times

Committed to practicing all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and demonstrating initiative in maintaining and expanding related skills

Proficiency in other languages an asset;
French preferred

Hours

Permanent full time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits
$36.88 – $45.21 hourly
