We are searching for a Continuing Care Assistant to join our Parkstone Enhanced Care team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignmentAssists with resident’s special needs, e.g. eye care, colostomy, and catheterAssists in restorative care e.g. walking, range of motionProvides mealtime assistance when requiredProvides snacks, morning and afternoon fluid passes and night lunches, while monitoring intakeDocuments according to facility policy e.g. Daily Resident Care Record, resident progress notes, initiating medication incident reports, servery documentation and audits, incident reports etcCommunicates and reports pertinent and relevant information and/or observations to the SupervisorCollaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care PlanAssists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis;Assists with light housekeeping dutiesPerforms delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practiceCommunicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety to Supervisor.Additional related duties as assignedAbout You

Completion of Continuing Care Assistant program or equivalency according to the CCA Entry to Practice PolicyYou are registered in Nova Scotia’s CCA registry as per the Continuing Care Assistants Registry ActYou hold a valid CPR/Frist Aid certification. (required)You can work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidaysCompleted Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care course considered an assetKnowledge of infection prevention and control practicesKnowledge of principles of personal care including bathing, oral hygieneAbility to utilize technology (i.e. Electronic Health Care Records)A completed Back in Form Lift & Transfer Program is considered an assetBilingualism in French/English is considered an assetPrevious working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an assetA passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations,…
