Technical Assistant, Diagnostic Imaging

Support patient imaging services at IWK Health in Halifax as a Technical Assistant in the Diagnostic Imaging department. Engage in patient preparation, assist technologists, and maintain high standards of care.

In this permanent full-time role, you'll report to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, where your responsibilities include patient support and assistance to radiologists and clerical staff. Ideal candidates will possess a High School Diploma and relevant experience, particularly with MEDITECH Magic modules. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will be vital for success in assisting with patient imaging needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for imaging examinations

• Assist imaging technologists during procedures

• Support radiologists and clerical personnel daily

• Maintain patient confidentiality and data accuracy

• Collaborate respectfully with diverse teams

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Previous experience in diagnostic imaging preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and manage time well
