Expand your skills in pediatric therapy with IWK Health as an Occupational Therapist in Halifax. This permanent role focuses on assessment and intervention for school-aged children with developmental challenges.
As part of the Community and School Therapy Team at IWK Health, the Occupational Therapist will deliver critical services to children in various educational and community settings. The position encompasses collaboration with schools and families, offering direct and consultative therapy while ensuring seamless transitions in care. Participation in program evaluations and staying updated on best practices is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide assessment and intervention for children’s occupational performance
• Collaborate with school staff and families for effective care
• Supervise Rehabilitation Assistants as required
• Record workload and follow IWK documentation guidelines
• Participate in meetings and training for continuous professional development
Requirements:
• Graduate of WFOT Approved Occupational Therapy Program
• Registered member of NSOTR and CAOT
• Two years experience in pediatric settings preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License required
