Occupational Therapist

Become an essential part of IWK Health as an Occupational Therapist in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This full-time role focuses on delivering occupational therapy services to children with developmental disabilities in schools and community settings.

The IWK Health Centre is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join their Community and School Therapy Team. This position requires a graduate from a WFOT-approved program, with a minimum of two years of clinical experience in pediatric rehabilitation. Your goal is to ensure comprehensive therapy for children while collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams across various educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and deliver occupational therapy interventions for children

• Collaborate with families, schools, and healthcare providers

• Supervise Rehabilitation Assistants as needed

• Participate in program planning and evaluation

• Maintain documentation as per IWK Health guidelines

Requirements:

• Graduate of WFOT-approved Occupational Therapy Program

• Registered with Nova Scotia Occupational Therapy Regulator

• Two years clinical experience with children preferred

• Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Driver’s License

• Knowledge of family-centered care practices
