In this part-time, permanent position with the Allied Health NICU team, you will focus on individual and family counseling, specifically addressing stress related to neonatal care and postpartum issues.
Your role will involve collaboration and resource advocacy while employing skills in trauma-informed practices and family dynamics. You will engage in intake duties and support other social workers in enhancing patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide counseling for families experiencing neonatal challenges
• Perform assessments and brief interventions
• Build collaborative partnerships with community services
• Manage clinical placements and offer training
• Serve as a resource for neonatal team members
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Social Work required
• Eligible for licensure with Nova Scotia College of Social Workers
• Two years of clinical experience preferred
• Knowledge of infant mental health and addictions
• Strong time management and critical thinking skills
