As part of the PICU Social Work team, you will be responsible for assessing and addressing the psychosocial needs of patients experiencing severe health issues. Your skills in crisis intervention and inter-professional collaboration will enhance the care environment for patients and their families. This position also includes supervisory and evaluative responsibilities to support the development of future social workers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer therapeutic interventions for patients and families
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and advocate for patient needs
• Collaborate with healthcare services and community resources
• Supervise MSW student placements and educational programs
• Engage in program development and professional committees
Requirements:
• Master's Degree in Social Work required
• Current license or eligibility with Nova Scotia College of Social Workers
• At least two years of relevant clinical experience
• Understanding of healthcare systems and best practice standards
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities essential
