The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Prenatal Care Team, the Physiotherapist provides assessment, intervention, and follow-up (as indicated) on a direct, consultative, and monitoring basis for ambulatory services (prenatal/postpartum) and inpatient services (including postpartum, high-risk prenatal, gynecology/breast health). The Physiotherapist works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team both within the Health Centre and in the community. The Physiotherapist participates in the professional development of services through care team meetings, working groups, and subcommittees as appropriate.

The Physiotherapist will also participate in the education of patients and families, Health Centre staff, and affiliated students. As a member of the Physiotherapy Service, the Physiotherapist will share responsibility with all IWK Physiotherapists for caseload coverage throughout the Health Centre as required, as well as weekend standby and call-back coverage on a rotational basis.

Hours of Work

Shifts Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per shift. Weekend standby and call back coverage on a rotational basis.
