Contribute to a meaningful mission at Shelter Nova Scotia as a Human Resources Assistant in Halifax. This full-time role is centered around recruitment, onboarding, and general HR support.
You will be an essential part of the HR team, assisting the Director of Human Resources and the Finance team with various tasks. Your responsibilities will include job posting management, applicant screening, interview coordination, and new employee orientations. Moreover, you will ensure that HR operations run smoothly and comply with relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage job postings and applicant screening processes
• Coordinate and facilitate interviews for candidates
• Conduct new hire orientations successfully
• Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS software
• Provide support to HR and Finance teams as needed
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Human Resources or related field
• Minimum 1-year HR or recruitment experience
• Preferable experience with HRIS platforms
• Strong knowledge of employment standards
• Background checks required for employment
