WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Join RBC as a Senior Manager leading the growth of our Archer Development initiative in our Halifax hub, a key strategic and regulatory program positioned at the forefront of our digitization of key governance, risk, and compliance processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation and modernization across our enterprise technology landscape. This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on technical leadership, allowing you to influence RBC's technology direction while mentoring high-performing engineers. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional development and business systems analyst team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Define and execute the technical roadmap for Archer Development, aligning initiatives with RBC's strategic objectives
  • Oversee solution design, development, and deployment of enterprise solutions using modern architecture and best practices
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across business and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Champion agile methodologies and Dev Ops practices to accelerate time-to-market and operational excellence
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring robust security, compliance, and data governance

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 5+ years of software development and architecture experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
  • Proven track record managing large-scale enterprise technology initiatives in complex environments
  • Strong expertise in modern development practices (Agile, Dev Ops, CI/CD, microservices architecture)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Nice-to-have
:

  • Experience in the financial services or banking industry
  • Certification in project management (PMP, SAFe) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Demonstrated expertise in emerging technologies (AI/ML, cloud-native architectures, blockchain)
  • Track record of successful digital transformation initiatives leading to measurable business impact
