The OpportunitySoftware Developer in our Corporate Information Technology department, Halifax, NS. Working on Microsoft ecosystem, enterprise‑scale data environments and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.
What You Will Do- Design, develop, and support applications using Microsoft development toolset (Dev Ops, .NET, C#, SQL Server, React, Type Script, data warehouse tools such as Analysis Services, MS Azure, MS Fabric, Power BI).
- Build and maintain data integrations and reporting solutions using SQL, Power BI, real‑time API calls, and data warehouse technologies.
- Contribute to Dev Ops practices including source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
- Leverage AI‑assisted development tools (Microsoft Copilot, Anthropic Claude, Azure Foundry) to improve productivity, code quality, and documentation.
- Build solutions on enterprise platforms such as SharePoint, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
- JD Edwards development and support.
- Work closely with application support, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver reliable, secure solutions.
- Consider security, performance, reliability, and data governance in application and data architecture decisions.

- Post‑secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience, with meaningful exposure to the Microsoft development stack.
- Experience working in large, multi‑division organizations across multiple Microsoft tenants and network domains. Preference given to those with experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One, ERP integrations, or payroll/finance systems.
- Exposure to regulated or security‑sensitive environments (e.g., defence, aerospace, government, financial services) with knowledge of secure development practices (e.g., OWASP) aligned with enterprise and aerospace/defence industry standards.
- Experience with data integrations, governance, access controls, and audit requirements, with ability to document solutions clearly for operational support and compliance purposes.
- Ability to pass relevant government security clearances (Security clearance request process – ). Public Services and Procurement Canada, Public Works Government Services Canada (PWGSC) and Transport Canada security clearances, Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
