Role Overview

The role reports to the Associate Director of T&O Risk. The primary responsibilities include independent advisory, oversight, and validation of governance, risk, and control activities supporting Enterprise Data Governance and AI Governance. Additional duties include supporting Product/Service/Process Risk Assessments (PSPRA), Regulatory Compliance Risk Assessment (RCRA), maintaining Process Risk and Control libraries, and advising on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). The position collaborates with First Line and Second Line of Defense partners to strengthen governance and risk management across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policy frameworks; monitor changes and provide timely governance, risk, and control insights.
  • Support PSPRA, RCRA, and other risk assessment activities across Data Governance and AI-related processes from an advisory and challenge perspective.
  • Provide governance and control advisory support to business partners, clarifying expectations and risk considerations without directing operational decision‑making.
  • Apply governance frameworks and control principles to assess alignment of business practices with enterprise standards and risk appetite.
  • Communicate governance, risk, and control considerations clearly to stakeholders.
Governance Advisory & Enablement
  • Serve as a governance advisor to business and technology stakeholders.
  • Support development, refinement, and socialization of governance standards related to Data and AI risk management.
  • Facilitate governance forums and stakeholder discussions.
  • Review governance artifacts and provide advisory feedback on completeness and alignment.
  • Identify governance gaps and emerging risks, escalating observations with clear articulation of risk and impact.
  • Prepare governance summaries, advisory materials, and reporting for leadership oversight.
Relationship Management & Collaboration
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners across first- and second-line functions.
  • Act as a trusted governance, risk, and control advisor, balancing effective challenge with collaboration.
  • Develop deep understanding of end-to-end business processes related to data and AI model risk management and lifecycle.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support governance alignment while respecting ownership within the first line of defense.
General Responsibilities
  • Continuously enhance knowledge and skills in Data and AI governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Work independently, exercising sound judgment to identify, assess, and elevate governance or control concerns.
  • Assume additional responsibilities aligned with governance advisory needs.
  • Coaches and mentors junior staff to strengthen governance understanding.
Qualifications

Required

  • 5–7 years of experience in governance, risk, compliance, data governance, AI governance, audit or related disciplines with a focus on advisory and oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of Data and AI governance risks, regulatory requirements, data privacy, quality, model risk, and emerging AI governance considerations.
  • Solid understanding of relevant regulations, industry standards, and control frameworks.
  • Experience supporting risk assessments and advising on risk identification, control considerations, and KRIs.
  • Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and communication skills.
  • Effective collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and appropriately elevate concerns.

Required professional certifications

  • CDMP – Certified Data Management Professional (DAMA)
  • CRISC – Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (ISACA) or CGRC – Certified in Governance, Risk and Compliance (ISC2)

Preferred certifications

  • AIGP – Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (IAPP)
  • ISO/IEC 42001 – AI Lead Auditor/Implementer (ISO)
Compensation

Salary: $69,000.00 – $ per year. Compensation may include commissions, bonuses, and benefits such as health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident insurance, life insurance, and retirement plans.
