SQL Database Developer​/Data Modelling; Date

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer and Data Modeler to design efficient database schemas, write complex database code, and optimize query performance. The ideal candidate will translate business requirements into effective data models, develop and maintain database objects, and ensure optimal query performance through tuning and troubleshooting.

• Build and optimize database schemas based on simplified but clear business requirements.

• Design entity‑relationship diagrams, relationships, and normalization strategies.

• Create tables for scenarios such as job candidates and work history.

• Write and optimize SQL queries based on the designed schema.

• Implement indexing strategies to enhance query performance.

• Troubleshoot performance issues and maintain system efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience with SQL Server or similar databases.
• Proven experience in data modeling based on business requirements.
• Strong hands‑on experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Power Designer) and entity‑relationship diagrams.
• Ability to design schemas from detailed business requirements.
• Proven expertise in SQL query development, including complex joins, sub‑queries, and aggregations.
• Good understanding of indexes, performance tuning, and optimization strategies.
• Experience writing views, stored procedures, triggers, and other database objects.

• Base salary of CAD 80k–90k/year for Halifax, NS, plus benefits.
