Elevate your career as a Senior Linux System Administrator for a defense client focused on the Royal Canadian Navy in Dartmouth, NS. Utilize your Red Hat and VMware skills to optimize training systems and ensure operational reliability.
This full-time contract position requires expertise in maintaining and upgrading SEACOT training systems. You will administer Red Hat Linux environments, proactively manage system health, and execute critical upgrades.

Your role will significantly impact the continuous function of naval training operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer SEACOT trainer systems for optimal performance

• Monitor and resolve Linux system and hardware issues

• Upgrade server components and procure hardware as needed

• Implement Linux updates and version upgrades effectively

• Maintain backup integrity and virtualization environments
Requirements:

• 7+ years in Red Hat Linux system administration

• Strong Bash scripting and VMware management skills

• Experience with hardware maintenance for server racks

• Troubleshooting skills for Linux in isolated settings

• Proficient with OpenLDAP, NFS, and Kickstart
