You’ll work closely with internal teams, customers, and partners to ensure training solutions are effective, scalable, and aligned with real‑world operational needs. This is a role for someone who brings strong technical expertise, experience working across systems and teams, and the ability to guide and mentor others. You’ll play a key part in building solutions that directly support the sailors who will operate Canada’s next‑generation fleet.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, integration, and delivery of training devices for the River Class Destroyer program
Develop and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation, including requirements and design specifications
Support training device planning, implementation, and verification and validation activities
Provide technical guidance and collaboration across internal teams and subcontractors
Monitor project progress, share updates with leadership, and contribute solutions when challenges arise
Mentor and support junior team members through hands‑on leadership and coaching
Qualifications
Education
Post‑secondary education in computer science, engineering, education technology, or a related field (equivalent experience will also be considered)
Experience
Experience delivering or supporting technology or systems‑based projects
Background in software, systems integration, or learning platforms
Familiarity with APIs, cloud environments, or service‑based architectures (REST)
Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript)
Experience working with technical requirements, system design, or documentation
Familiarity with modern development tools (e.g., Git, Dev Ops)
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work across teams
Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Interest or experience in learning technologies (e.g., LMS, SCORM, xAPI) is an asset
Experience in defence or other regulated environments is an asset
