GIS Data Analytics Specialist at YRP

Become a vital part of York Regional Police as a GIS Data Analytics Specialist. This full-time role focuses on converting operational data into analytical spatial data within the police force.

In this position, you will maintain GIS data and facilitate integrations between various applications within the YRP’s ArcGIS setup. You will also create web maps using GIS technologies and train personnel on effective utilization of these map products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transform operational data into consumable spatial data

• Maintain and update geodatabases on ArcGIS servers

• Configure web mapping applications using HTML and Java Script

• Support Community Safety initiatives through data portals

• Perform GIS server maintenance and recommend upgrades

Requirements:

• Four-year university degree in Geography or related field

• Minimum of three years’ experience in GIS

• Knowledge of GIS software, particularly ESRI products

• Experience with spatial ETL tools like FME

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
