Senior CI​/CD & DevOps Solution Engineer

Location: Halifax Regional Municipality

Staffinity is currently seeking a Senior CI/CD & Dev Ops Solution Engineer for a premier corporate client located in Halifax. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive enterprise benefits package. The base salary range is 100-120k + benefits, RRSP matching, vacation and personal days. This is a hybrid position, up to 3 days per week in office.
Our client is executing massive infrastructure modernization and migration initiatives across its enterprise landscape. Rather than traditional operations maintenance, this position is focused on working directly with technical application teams to architect, troubleshoot, configure, and execute pipeline migrations from legacy platforms over to modern cloud-native environments.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a hands-on technical solutions engineer who loves debugging complex pipelines, writing automation configurations from scratch, and managing infrastructure-as-code. You should be a strong communicator who can drop into varied code bases, solve technical bottlenecks, and comfortably navigate both containerized environments and traditional build systems.
Responsibilities
Pipeline Migration & Automation:
Support and guide application teams migrating from legacy build platforms (Jenkins, RLM, or manual workflows) to modern Git Hub Actions ecosystems.
Workflow Configuration:
Design, build, and debug complex CI/CD pipeline stages, settings, and workflows from the ground up, including custom Git Hub Actions workflows and self-hosted runners.
Build System Architecture:
Write project configuration files (such as Maven POM and Settings files) from scratch across diverse and disparate codebases.
Container & Cluster Management:
Deploy and troubleshoot containerized workloads within Docker and complex Kubernetes clusters (managing namespaces, pods, PV/PVCs, Helm charts, and kubectl deployments).
Configuration & Infrastructure as Code:
Implement automated system configurations and infrastructure deployments using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory, and Urban Code Deploy.
Quality & Security Integration:
Configure and utilize code quality platforms (Sonar Qube) to automate guardrails directly into active deployment workflows.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Diploma in IT, or equivalent technical experience.

Experience:

5+ years of rigorous hands-on experience designing, debugging, and maintaining enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines.
Build System Expertise:
Deep practical understanding of project types and build tools, specifically including Maven, NPM, PyPi, .NET, and MSBuild.
Advanced Tool Stack Prowess:
Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins (Declarative, Multibranch, and Maven pipelines) alongside advanced Git Hub Actions execution.
Infrastructure & Deployment Stack:
Confident technical execution using Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes environments.
Scripting & Agility:
Strong background leveraging scripting languages (Groovy, Shell, or Python) to automate tasks, combined with experience in Agile tooling (Jira or Service Now).
