Halifax Regional Municipality is hiring for the GIS Systems Analyst position, with a term span of up to 18 months. Candidates should possess a robust understanding of GIS principles, database management, and the ability to implement geomatics technologies. This role supports municipal initiatives while fostering an inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain corporate GIS databases and standards

• Suggest and implement new business strategies using GIS

• Coordinate the deployment of new geomatics solutions

• Assist various departments in GIS integration efforts

• Conduct GIS analysis for organizational needs

Requirements:

• Degree in Geography, Engineering, or Computer Science

• 2 years experience with relevant GIS software

• Familiarity with SQL scripting and database technologies

• Competence in both Unix and Windows systems

• Experience in a municipal setting preferred
