Administer Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases for CAE applications from Halifax, using SQL, monitoring, and performance troubleshooting expertise.
This Application DBA supports commercial and custom applications on Windows-based infrastructure. The work spans database health, capacity, availability, patching, migrations, backup and recovery, and application-data issues. Collaboration with application, infrastructure, testing, operations, vendors, and technical support organizations is central to controlled service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor database health, capacity, availability, and performance
- Install and configure database software, listeners, and instances
- Execute patching, upgrades, migrations, and technical refreshes
- Validate backup, restore, recovery, and environment refresh activities
- Diagnose application-data issues using SQL, logs, and traces
- Degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, or related field
- Enterprise relational database administration experience
- Strong Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server experience
- SQL troubleshooting and database performance tuning experience
- Eligibility to work in Canada and obtain required clearances
Support CAE database operations in Halifax through disciplined administration, recovery, troubleshooting, documentation, and controlled maintenance practices.
