ASL Linguist with Annotation Experience

Transform AI language data as an ASL Linguist s position requires expertise in ASL linguistics, annotation skills, and the ability to collaborate with AI/ML engineers.

In this role, you will utilize your deep linguistic knowledge to produce high-quality ASL data for AI applications. Responsibilities include maintaining the sign dictionary, reviewing video annotations, and leading calibration sessions. Attention to detail and advanced gloss knowledge are critical for success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Author and update entries in the ASL sign dictionary

• Use gloss conventions to annotate ASL video

• Collaborate with engineers on training data requirements

• Evaluate and document ASL avatar outputs

• Lead sessions to calibrate linguistic standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in ASL Linguistics or relevant field

• At least 3 years in ASL-related roles

• Fluency in ASL and English transcription

• Expertise in ASL linguistics and grammar

• Experience with annotation tools preferred
