Canadian Museum Heritage Interpreter Bilingual

Become a Bilingual Heritage Interpreter at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 on a temporary 4-month contract. Share historical knowledge and enrich visitor engagement through guided tours and programs.

This role focuses on providing exceptional customer service, translating complex historical narratives in both English and French for diverse groups. As a Heritage Interpreter, you will assist in developing programming, manage ticket sales, and ensure the upkeep of the museum's front-line conditions while interacting with the public.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead engaging tours and workshops for visitors

• Monitor and report on museum conditions for quality assurance

• Execute cash, debit, and credit transactions

• Conduct ongoing research to continually improve presentations

• Train new visitor experience staff and volunteers

Requirements:

• Degree or certificate in history, education, or tourism

• Fluency in English and French

• Strong customer service orientation and communication abilities

• Leadership skills with a positive disposition

• Capable of handling multiple tasks under pressure
