Global Supply Chain Buyer

Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing suppliers and oversee currently implemented supply chain strategies with suppliers in domestic and international markets.
  • Oversee procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationships with the company’s pre-existing supplier base, across multiple regions.
  • Lead risk management initiatives to mitigate disruptions in global supply chain operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain operations with business objectives, including cost reduction programs.
  • Develop and implement global supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • React to dynamic trade environment, identifying and supporting qualification of recent supply sources when applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively in a Microsoft O365 environment, leveraging tools such as Teams, SharePoint, and Excel for global coordination and reporting.
  • Ensure seamless communication and document management across international teams using Microsoft technologies.
  • Apply engineering principles to optimize supply chain processes, ensuring technical rigor in decision‑making and problem‑solving.
  • Coordinate and manage international travel for supplier visits, audits, and global operations meetings, maintaining flexibility for frequent travel.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a senior/global role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
  • Professional certifications such as CSCP or CPIM are an asset.
  • Solid knowledge of international logistics, trade compliance, and procurement processes.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally as part of the role.
  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Technologies and ability to work effectively in a full O365 environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain management software (Experience in SYSPRO preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Skilled in the art of cost reduction implementations, without sacrificing quality.
