Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Job Description
As a Buyer you will support internal stakeholders by obtaining quotes for materials and services, issuing purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and using Irving Shipbuilding’s Enterprise Resource Planning & Material Resource Planning systems to file, store, manage spend, view, reconcile, and approve invoices. You will also support continuous improvement by consulting, advising, and adhering to the development of new Supply Chain Processes.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance (5%)

Issue Purchase Orders for material

Expedite Materials

Invoicing activities

Execute negotiated contracts through Irving Shipbuilding’s ERP & MRP systems (5%)

Analyze market conditions (e.g., pricing, availability, lead‑time, and capacity) (10%)

Undertake cost analysis for direct material and services

Qualifications

Post‑Secondary Education, preferably a bachelor's in Business Administration

Previous exposure to market analytics and insights

Demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills

Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks

Strong analytical skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Fluency in Microsoft Office

Additional Requirements

Must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Position requires a full‑time, in‑office presence
