Housekeeping

Position: Northwood Housekeeping Role
Be part of the Northwood team in Halifax as a dedicated Housekeeper. This role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and working effectively in a long-term care environment while operating laundry equipment.

We are seeking a Housekeeper with a minimum of two years’ experience in housekeeping, particularly in healthcare settings. You will carry out essential cleaning duties, manage laundry operations, and ensure compliance with safety protocols. A strong ability to lift and move equipment is crucial for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean assigned areas and maintain equipment

• Collect and sort garbage and recycling

• Assist with laundry duties such as folding and packaging

• Maintain floors with periodic cleaning tasks

• Support supervisors with special tasks assigned

Requirements:

• At least Grade X education or equivalent

• Two years’ housekeeping experience preferred

• Must lift and move items up to 50 lbs

• Strong hygiene practices and reliability

• Knowledge of floor care and safety practices
