Become a key part of Saint Mary's University as a Maintenance Assistant in Facilities Management. This casual position involves providing essential maintenance and support across campus.
The successful Maintenance Assistant will support the Manager of Maintenance and Operations. This position includes various responsibilities from making repairs to maintaining the university grounds. You will work collaboratively with tradespeople and ensure that the facilities are well-maintained and operational.
Key Responsibilities:
• Make minor repairs across the university facilities
• Maintain cleanliness and order of university grounds
• Assist tradespeople and provide maintenance support
• Manage snow and ice control operations
• Operate university vehicles for maintenance needs
Requirements:
• Completion of a technical certification or trades school
• At least one year of maintenance experience
• Effective teamwork and communication abilities
• Willingness to work shifts and be on call
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
