Custodian Regional Centre

Contribute to cleanliness and sanitation at the Halifax Regional Centre for Education as a Custodian. Effectively maintain school facilities as per departmental standards in a safe and proactive manner.

The Custodian reports to the Caretaker and receives direction from the Building Management Supervisor. You will perform cleaning and maintenance duties while ensuring an attractive and sanitary environment for students and staff. Previous janitorial experience is preferred, and candidates should be able to lift 50 pounds and work various shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of school buildings and facilities

• Perform janitorial duties in a safe manner

• Follow policies and procedures of the Operations Department

• Report to the Caretaker and Building Management Supervisor

• Adapt to operational changes in work hours

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Ability to lift 50 pounds safely

• Basic computer skills for operational tasks

• Willingness to work all shift schedules

• Previous experience in janitorial work preferred
