Position: Volunteer Assistant for Youth Programs
Location: Halifax Regional Municipality

Engage with youth at the John W. Lindsay YMCA as a Volunteer Assistant, supporting programs designed for children and teens. Commit to a minimum of three hours per week during evenings or weekends.

In the volunteer role under the Child & Youth Program Coordinator, you'll assist in delivering inclusive programs that focus on physical literacy and wellness. Your contributions will ensure a safe and supportive environment where youth can thrive. You'll be crucial in helping with the setup, delivery, and documentation of activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Arrive early to prepare spaces for programs

• Assist staff in providing a safe program environment

• Help with material preparation and cleanup tasks

• Follow YMCA safety policies and procedures

• Document attendance and communicate incidents promptly

Requirements:

• Previous experience with children and youth preferred

• Interest in promoting youth engagement and programming

• Strong organization skills and communication abilities

• Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Register Check required
