The Opportunity

The IWK Health Centre is seeking a leader in the advancement of women and gender diverse health care for the Permanent, Full-Time position of Nurse Practitioner. Reporting to the Manager, Adult Peri-operative, Ambulatory, Breast and Midwifery , the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner will be an expert practitioner and patient advocate in a program based care environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership in nursing developing, promoting and maintaining an interdisciplinary collaboration in a team environment
  • Integrating the skills and knowledge of the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in a collaborative practice setting
  • Working in partnership with professional nurses and other disciplines to provide holistic patient/family centred care and advance the practice of nursing.
  • Participate in planning and implementing change related to clinical, educational and research issues in nursing.
  • Works in collaboration with interprofessional team to provide care within scope of practice
  • Provides clinical leadership related to advanced nursing practice issues, and scope includes the roles of a clinician, educator, consultant, and researcher.
  • Promotes liaisons among nursing and other health disciplines in the care of the patient and family in the Centre and in the community.
  • Dedication to continuing learning for self and team.

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday; 75 hours bi-weekly.
