• Report to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, and be part of the Health & Safety Department.
• Ensure safety standards are maintained, tracking/investigating accidents and compiling statistics.
• Responsible for induction, training, and organizing required training to meet department standards.
• Observe and instruct safe work practices and procedures.
• Ensure the site executes and complies with the elements of the Health and Safety Management programs.
• Prepare safety related reports and update H&S statistics.
• Assist in the planning, development and implementation of specific health and safety programs as directed.
• Develop training initiatives as part of the health, safety and wellness of the Upper Beaver H&S team.
• Identify, monitor and correct health and safety hazards.
• Provide technical advice and guidance on health and safety issues.
• Monitor employee adherence to safety regulations and enforce proper health and safety protocols.
• Promote safe and healthy working conditions and recommend ways to improve overall safety conditions by developing strategies to control risk in the workplace.
• Perform periodic site inspections to assess risk and ensure all safety regulations and protocols are adhered to and meet applicable safety standards.
• Understand the health and safety goals and strategies for the company and work with the HSR General Supervisor to develop targets to achieve fiscal, strategic and legislative requirements.
• Responsible and accountable for supporting operations in terms of safety meetings, huddles, develop and manage procedures and standards.
• Provide guidelines for safe work including the development and review of standards, procedures and JHAs to ensure all health and safety measures are taken and accounted for.
• Support inspections and audits for the HSR department, JHSC and approved request of other committees/depts that require inspections/audits.
• Manage incident reporting and structure of incoming data.
• Capacity to develop Health and Safety standards, procedures and conduct Job Hazard Analysis.
• Ensure site compliance to local (Provincial) and National legislation.
• Ability to deliver induction and orientation of new employees.
• Inspect, audit and evaluate health and safety management systems, workplace conditions, equipment and practices.
• Develop health and safety materials required for presentations including videos, Power Points, etc.

• High School Diploma.
• Degree or Diploma in OHS (considered an asset).
• A solid background in the Mining Operations or a combination of suitable experience is required.
• Working knowledge of EHS software.
• A solid knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants.
• Trade certification or designation (considered an asset).
• CRSP Designation (considered an asset).
• Train-the-Trainer certification (considered an asset).
• Leadership experience and training (considered an asset).
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Minimum Salary: $86,000 CAD | Maximum Salary: $114,000 CAD.
