The Quality Control Inspector plays a pivotal role at Irving Shipbuilding, taking charge of inspections to confirm that all steel/hull systems meet specifications, standards, and codes. This position requires close collaboration with various teams to ensure project acceptance while overseeing the steel/welding quality for a 'first time right' approach. Maintaining ISO standards and managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) is essential for operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough inspections for compliance with standards
• Liaise with internal teams for project approvals
• Evaluate specifications to include necessary hold points
• Verify report completion from production activities
• Perform routine shipboard inspections for hazards
Requirements:
• Red Seal Trade Certification or equivalent experience
• 3 to 5 years in related quality control roles
• Experience in shipbuilding highly regarded
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and Share Point
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
