You'll inspect all paint and surface preparation to ensure compliance with required standards, specifications, and codes, while partnering with internal and external stakeholders to secure approvals for project completion.

You'll support a "first-time-right" approach by monitoring quality throughout the process, not just at final inspection. Responsibilities also include completing turnover documentation for Canada, maintaining ISO standards through ongoing assessment, and raising NCRs and CARs to drive continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct thorough inspections of all work to ensure compliance with specification and applicable hold points.

Liaise with customer and internal teams to verify satisfaction and secure sign off for project milestones and final acceptance.

Evaluate specifications and 1379’s to identify and incorporate necessary hold points into the production process.

Verify activities progressed as completed by production in the 98% report.

Perform routine shipboard inspections to ensure all areas are free from potential hazards, water ingress and housekeeping standards are consistently upheld.

Prepare NCRs and CARs to address any deviation from quality standards.

Complete all documentation required for turnover to the customer in alignment with the ITP.

QUALIFICATIONS

Red Seal Trade Certification, in associated trade (welding, pipe fitting, electrical, electronics, machining, mechanical, paint) or equivalent experience.

3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.

NACE training considered an asset.

Inspection experience in a shipbuilding setting considered an asset.

Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite and SharePoint.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Handle sensitive situations carefully balancing the need to enforce quality standards with maintaining good relationships.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.

Requests for accommodation due to a disability (which may be visible or invisible, temporary, or permanent) can be made at any stage of application and employment. We encourage candidates to make their accommodation needs known so that we can provide equitable opportunities.

We invite applications from all qualified candidates, including racially visible persons, women in underrepresented roles, persons with disabilities, Indigenous persons, and members of the 2

SLGBTQIA+ community, and encourage applicants to self-identify.
