Job Summary &
Key Responsibilities Reporting to Professor Xianping Dong, the successful candidate will work on two projects focused on investigating the interactions between phosphoinositide lipids and lysosomal ion channels and transporters. Understanding these interactions will advance our knowledge of the regulation of lysosomal ion channels and transporters, and how they contribute to endolysosomal physiology, Ca²⁺ signaling, autophagy, and related human diseases.
In this role the PDF will:
Conduct independent and collaborative researchData analysis, interpretation, and disseminationManuscript and grant preparationLaboratory management and technical supportMentorship and training of junior researchersProfessional development and contribution to the research communityQualifications/Requirements of Position
PhD in Physiology, Biophysics, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a closely related disciplineStrong background in cellular and molecular biology is essential, with at least two years of relevant post-doctoral research experienceDemonstrated expertise in studying membrane proteins using modern molecular, cellular, and genetic approaches, such as gene editing, fluorescence imaging, protein biochemistry, and functional assays.Experience with lysosomal biology, Ca²⁺ signaling, or autophagy research will be considered a significant asset.Familiarity with data analysis software, image analysis tools, and statistical programs is expected.The candidate must possess excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and decision-making skills, with the ability to design, execute, and interpret complex experiments independently as well as collaborativelyStrong written and oral communication skills are essential for preparing manuscripts, presenting findings, and contributing to grant applications.Salary Range/Pay Rate
$50,000 to $60,000
