Location: Halifax Regional Municipality

Join SSPI as an Advanced Formulations Scientist, dedicating 70% of your time to hands-on laboratory work. Focus on developing toxicology-enabling formulations and employing advanced characterization techniques.

In this critical role at SSPI, the Advanced Formulations Scientist will design and develop toxicology-enabling formulations for both rodent and non-rodent preclinical studies. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in formulation development and the ability to interpret complex data from analytical instruments. Your expertise will guide the selection of appropriate formulations using state-of-the-art tools and methods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and design formulations, including emulsions and solutions

• Conduct studies on excipient compatibility and stability

• Analyze data using spectroscopy and chromatographic methods

• Document experiments clearly and write comprehensive reports

• Present findings to stakeholders and partners

Requirements:

• PhD or MSc in chemistry or related discipline

• At least 5 years in preformulation and formulation development

• Proven experience with lipid-based formulations

• High proficiency in analytical instrumentation

• Excellent reporting and communication abilities
