Assistant Store Manager – Kent Building Supplies
The Assistant Store Manager oversees day‑to‑day operations across multiple business lines (Retail, Pro, Install Sales), ensuring a seamless customer experience and productive store environment.
Responsibilities- Partner with Department Managers to ensure consistent execution across Retail, Pro, and Install Sales operations.
- Maintain well‑stocked, clean, and visually appealing departments that create a welcoming shopping environment.
- Implement sales strategies that support multiple revenue streams and meet overall store sales and margin targets.
- Coach, train, and develop Department Managers and associates to build bench strength and leadership capability.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving concerns with empathy and efficiency for all customer segments.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and loss prevention practices across departments.
- Promote a safe, compliant, and well‑organized store environment, maintaining safety and operational standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Store Manager and leadership team to align priorities, communicate expectations, and drive accountability.
- Utilize retail systems (Microsoft Office, Kronos, D365) to support scheduling, reporting, and operational execution.
- Minimum 5+ years of retail management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Comfort with technology and retail systems.
