Safety and Security Manager

Lead the Safety and Security Investigations Unit at the Department of Justice in Halifax. This pivotal management role involves oversight of security initiatives and stakeholder partnerships.

You will drive operational excellence in the Safety and Security Investigations Unit (SSIU), reporting to the Director of Public Safety and Policing. This position requires a strong leader skilled in human resource and budget management and encompasses the management of Legislative Security, Corporate Security, and Public Safety Investigations. Ensure the delivery of security services and investigations for government personnel and facilities across Nova Scotia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage safety and security portfolios to meet legislative standards

• Provide strategic oversight and operational coordination of SSIU

• Collaborate with government departments on public safety initiatives

• Offer support and advice to stakeholders and clients

• Evaluate and implement security strategies ensuring community representation

Requirements:

• University degree or law enforcement training

• Extensive knowledge of law enforcement practices

• Strong leadership and team-building capabilities

• Proven experience in regulatory enforcement and policy development

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
