Location: Halifax Regional Municipality

Adecco is currently seeking full-time Overhead Crane Operators to join our esteemed client in Halifax, NS. This long-term, full-time project offers opportunities LOA and travel allowances. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment on construction sites.

  • Shifts & Pay Rate:

    Day Shift: $43.00 per hour (7am - 3:30pm)

    Night Shift: $3.00 per hour shift premium (12am - 7:30pm)

    Back Shift: $3.00 per hour shift premium (5pm - 1am)

  • Location: Halifax, NS

  • Job type: Full-time |Long-Term Contract

  • Additional Overtime offered
    LOA (Living out allowance): $135 / day worked
    Travel: $220 weekly, if 80 km away from location

  • One time Travel Pay: $600

  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate various types of cranes, including over 10 ton overhead cranes

  • Perform pre-operational inspections and maintenance on cranes

  • Interpret load charts and rigging plans to determine safe lifting procedures

  • Communicate with ground personnel using hand signals or radio communication

  • Ensure that all lifting operations are conducted safely and efficiently

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies

  • Requirements and

    Qualifications:

  • Eligible to work in Canada and resided in Canada for 5 years

  • Valid crane operator certification/license

  • Previous experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial setting

  • Knowledge of crane operation techniques, safety procedures, and rigging practices

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment Government Security Clearance/Background and Credit check

  • Full PPE and Fit Tested Respirator Mask required

  • Ability to handle, lift, carry, and set up parts and equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more

  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in inclement weather

  • Willingness to support extended hours and overtime as needed

  • Daily commute to work required.
