Position: Full-Time Housing Support Worker
Make a difference as a Housing Support Worker with YWCA Halifax, focusing on participant-centered approaches in Waverley. This full-time, one-year term role supports individuals navigating housing and security issues.

As a Housing Support Worker, you'll engage directly with participants, providing essential support services, advocacy, and resource access.

Your role includes advocating for participants and fostering partnerships within the community to enhance their living situations. This position also emphasizes a trauma-informed approach, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate direct services and case planning for participants

• Monitor safety and conduct risk management assessments

• Assist residents with resource navigation and referrals

• Document daily activities and maintain operational standards

• Support participant transitions in collaboration with team members

Requirements:

• Degree/diploma in social work, sociology, or related field

• Experience (6-12 months) in supportive housing

• Knowledge of feminist perspectives and trauma-informed care

• Proficient communication and organizational skills

• Certification in First Aid/CPR required
