Community Outreach Worker in Homelessness

Become a vital part of BC Housing as a Community Outreach Worker focused on homelessness. Your initiative will guide individuals towards housing solutions through comprehensive support and collaboration.

In this role, reporting to the Coordinated Access and Assessment Manager, you will work on a team dedicated to tackling homelessness and encampments in the region. Engage with individuals facing challenges, providing them with insights into available housing resources and support. This position requires a nuanced understanding of the social landscape and effective communication with diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Connect with at-risk individuals in community settings

• Provide guidance through housing support services

• Coordinate with various homelessness service providers

• Support a team approach to minimize homelessness

• Manage crisis situations and assist in de-escalation

Requirements:

• High School diploma with additional relevant education

• Experience working with individuals impacted by homelessness

• Knowledge of community and government housing resources

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Valid Class 5 BC driver's license and vehicle access
