Join the Department of Opportunities and Social Development as a Family Support Worker in Halifax. This role is dedicated to advocating for children and families within the community.
As a Family Support Worker, you will implement strategies to assist families and youth facing challenges. Collaboration with social workers is key to developing educational and advocacy plans that promote resilience. Engage with diverse clients and foster meaningful connections to facilitate their progress.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create supportive strategies for families and youth
• Build relationships based on empathy and understanding
• Advocate for access to resources and support services
• Assist with life skills and manage client evaluations
• Conduct home visits and support during court sessions
Requirements:
• Child & Youth Care diploma is essential
• Knowledge of community resources and family dynamics
• Proven experience in case management
• Strong communication skills for diverse environments
• Adaptable to changing client needs and circumstances
