Community Action Worker in Cree Territory

This role is designed for an impactful Community Worker to navigate community dynamics and implement various social service programs. A diploma in relevant social work techniques is essential, along with a comprehensive knowledge of mental health and addiction issues faced within the community. You will engage effectively with residents and stakeholders to provide necessary support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct needs assessments and implement community action initiatives

• Communicate actively with beneficiaries and groups

• Collaborate with social services and community stakeholders

• Offer counseling and crisis intervention

• Integrate knowledge of Cree culture and social environment

Requirements:

• Diploma in social work or related field

• Fluent in Cree and English;
French is advantageous

• Understanding of local social issues and healing practices

• Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams

• Preferred: relevant experience in community service
