Youth Care Worker II

Be a vital part of youth support services in Halifax as a Youth Care Worker II. Deliver therapeutic care in community settings while collaborating with interprofessional teams.

As a Youth Care Worker II at IWK, you will utilize your skills to provide exceptional care for children and youth experiencing mental health challenges. This full-time, hourly position requires a thorough understanding of child development and clinical practices. You will implement care plans, assess interventions, and actively participate in team discussions to support families effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement aspects of care plans under supervision

• Assess intervention impacts and suggest improvements

• Participate in clinical discussions and case conferences

• Provide support in community locations, including homes

• Engage in program operations and team collaborations

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Care Studies or equivalent

• Two years’ experience in mental health services required

• Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention mandatory

• Familiarity with child and adolescent development theories

• Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license and clear abstract
