Drive support for individuals with vision loss as a Disability Benefits Navigator in GAIN Program p clients with applications for federal, provincial benefits, and access to healthcare resources.
As a full-time Disability Benefits Navigator at VLRC, you will be instrumental in guiding clients through the benefits application process, ensuring they maximize available resources. You will utilize your knowledge of programs like the Disability Tax Credit and Canada Disability Benefit, while engaging with clients in a culturally sensitive manner. A collaborative approach will be key in your interactions with clients, families, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide personalized support for disability benefits applications
• Track application progress and manage appeals as necessary
• Stay informed about benefit programs and share knowledge
• Participate in client satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives
• Document all service activities in client health records
Requirements:
• 2+ years in client navigation, social service systems
• Post-secondary diploma in relevant field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with case-management and electronic health records
• Experience working with diverse populations, especially disabilities
