At Jean Tweed Centre, the Counsellor provides essential outreach and case management services to assist women and their families. The position emphasizes healthy child development, ensuring effective collaboration with child welfare agencies. You'll engage families through therapeutic relationships while utilizing various strategies tailored to meet their needs and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct client intake and assess individual needs
• Facilitate group and individual trauma-informed counselling
• Liaise with child welfare agencies for coordinated care
• Provide referrals for additional support services
• Engage in community networking to promote awareness
Requirements:
• Degree in Child and Youth Care/Social Work
• Experience with families facing complex challenges
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Knowledge of social service systems
