Navigator Disability at VLRC

Position: Navigator for Disability Benefits at VLRC
Support individuals with vision loss in accessing vital disability benefits as a Navigator in GAIN Program us on application processes and connection to community resources.

In this full-time role, you'll help clients apply for essential benefits, including the Disability Tax Credit. Your advocacy and strong communication skills will play a crucial role in simplifying complex processes for individuals and families. Additionally, you will maintain relationships with healthcare providers to facilitate a comprehensive support network for your clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with understanding eligibility and completing forms

• Follow up on applications and support appeals

• Keep current on disability benefit updates and share insights

• Engage in quality improvement and client feedback initiatives

• Ensure thorough documentation in client health records

Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience in healthcare or social services

• Diploma in Social Services or related field

• Exceptional communication and organizational skills

• Knowledge of cultural safety practices

• Familiarity with diverse populations and their needs
