About the Role:

The Youth Intervention Program Staff plays anessential role in the planning, implementation, and delivery of services designed to support and empower newcomers as they settle in their new community. This position, under the supervision of the Coordinator, works toensure that programs and services are inclusive, accessible, and responsive tothe diverse needs of newcomers, fostering a sense of belonging.

This role will be an integral member of a dynamic program team, providing targeted support to newcomer youth at risk, helping them navigate challenges such as violence, vulnerability, and social integration.

This role focuses on providing individualized intervention and mentorship to at-risk youth, while also collaborating with community organizations, schools, and stakeholders to address broader issues affecting youth, including violence and systemic barriers. Through culturally sensitive support, the staff will empower newcomer youth to overcome adversity,build resilience, and thrive, while working to create safer and more inclusive communities for all young people.

In this role, you will:
  • Work with youth, their families, and community partners to ensure that youth are equipped with the tools, resources, and opportunities for social inclusion, empowerment, and well-being, helping them develop the skills and confidence to succeed in their new environment
  • Lead and coordinate activities designed to support andengage newcomer youth as they navigate their settlement and integration processin their new community
  • Create safer, inclusive, and empowering spaces for newcomer youth to connect with each other, build essential skills, and accesssupport services
  • Develop and refine program and service activities based on the needs of clients and community
  • Develop, implement and support recruitment plan and efforts to ensure active participation in program activities and services
  • Prepare and setup of program materials, venues, and resources required for workshops, events, classes and/or service delivery
  • Schedule client appointments, group sessions,workshops and program calendars to ensure targets are met
  • Support the monitoring of program outcomes by helping track progress, engagement, and overall program success
  • Provide direct support to clients attending programs,ensuring they have the necessary resources, information, assistance and referral to additional services when needed
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to establish and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, service providers, and stakeholders, enhance service delivery and building a supportive network for clients
