Serve as a Family Support Worker in Halifax with the Department of Opportunities and Social Development. This term role offers the chance to advocate for children and their families within the Child and Family Wellbeing framework.
Your role will involve collaborating with social workers to implement strategies aimed at empowering families. You will provide guidance, advocate for resources, and conduct evaluations to ensure the well-being of diverse clients facing various challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design strategies to support clients' independent living
• Establish positive client relationships with empathy
• Facilitate connections to local community resources
• Assist with social support and life skills development
• Perform independent visits and contribute to court processes
Requirements:
• Valid Child & Youth Care Worker diploma
• Understanding of family dynamics and child needs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and relevant systems
